WorkPay Africa, one of the startups we accelerated and invested at Pangea, was accepted into the latest cohort Y Combinator (YC), one of the most prestigious startup seed accelerators globally. Through this, they have secured $150,000 in seed funding. The founding team, Paul Kimani moved to Silicon Valley during which they worked intensively with Y-Combinator to get the company into shape and finally pitched at YC’s 30th Demo Day to investors and media. Notable startups from Y-Combinator include: airbnb, dropbox, stripe etc.
WorkPay along with two other Kenyan companies becomes the second company to join the prestigious YC Core program from Kenya since its inception in 2005.
