The ShelterTech Kenya Accelerator program hosted Demo Day in Nairobi, Kenya where 15 businesses pitched before a panel of celebrity judges, investors and 130 guests. Seven businesses were selected for investment. These investors are; Habitat for Humanity, Pangea Accelerator, through its Oslo Investor Program and local investment companies including Viktoria Ventures.
Demo Day also hosted a simultaneous roundtable discussion during Demo Day. The roundtable brought different players to discuss how to tackle the challenge of affordable housing and ways to support innovations around it. Fueled by robust discussions, the round table culminated in an agreement to further interventions both from the Kenyan Government in addressing reforms and the necessary support needed from other hubs and accelerators.
The seven businesses have finalized investor conversations and undergone due diligence.
